‘Tis the Season to Call Your Lawyer

SUMMER IS THE BEST SEASON FOR DIVORCED PARENTS TO ADDRESS CUSTODY/ PARENTING TIME ISSUES AND FOR ALL PARENTS TO ADDRESS EDUCATIONAL ISSUES OF AND CONCERNING THEIR CHILDREN

While Summer is the season for families to take vacations, attend celebrations and otherwise enjoy the benefits of the warmer weather, for divorced parents and/or parents addressing issues with their local school districts, summer is also the most appropriate season for addressing, resolving and, worst-case scenario, adjudicating issues of and concerning school-age children. This is the time of year parents can attend counseling and/or mediate disputes between one another to address custody and parenting time issues before the new school year begins.

Parents can also utilize the summertime months to hopefully, resolve whatever remaining issues they may have with respect to their child’s educational program and placement for the upcoming school year; special needs or otherwise. Summer is accordingly not just a time to relax and appreciate your loved ones; Summer may also be the most appropriate time of year to proactively address whatever child-related issues may exist between separated and divorced parents and/or between parents and their local school districts. Just as our beloved Eagles are now preparing for the upcoming football season, concerned parents should also be preparing themselves for the upcoming school year by addressing and hopefully resolving whatever open issues they may have regarding their children. This way, like our beloved Eagles,  our Summertime preparation will facilitate our children becoming Champions when the new school year begins.
